Service Description

Momigami is a traditional Japanese technique of treating paper with starch paste (often Konnyaku ) and kneading it to create a soft, durable, and waterproof material with cloth-like texture. Literally translating to “kneading paper” In this class you will learn the art of Momigami. We will use magazine pages, tissue paper and brown bag paper and knead them with ordinary cooking oil ( much cheaper and you get the same results. After you make several papers you will attach them to small painted canvases and add stitching and beads to create lovely small hangable art pieces. The instructor will provide everything needed.
