In this unique class, you’ll learn Portuguese knitting—a technique where the yarn is tensioned around your neck or through a knitting pin and controlled with a simple thumb motion, making stitches smoother, faster, and easier on your hands. This method is known for its simple purling technique and is a great option for knitters who experience hand or wrist fatigue, or anyone curious to expand their skills. In this class you’ll learn all the foundation knitting skills - knit, purl, cast on, cast off, increase and decrease how to tension your yarn to build rhythm and consistency in your knitting. We will end the class knitting with two colours, two knitting pins and knitting with both hands! Cancellation Policy

To cancel your workshop or event booking, please contact us as soon as possible. If you cancel at least 2 weeks prior to the event, you will receive a refund minus a $25 administrative fee. No refunds will be provided if cancelled less than 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the event. If for whatever reason, St. Marys Creative Retreat cancels a workshop or event, you will be fully refunded the cost of your ticket.
